Our Services.
Bird Management Solutions offer a wide variety of bird proofing and control services. The most common forms are listed below:

The installation of bird netting is a very effective way of denying birds access to certain areas where they may be nesting.
Netting is made from knotted polyethylene and comes in a variety of colours. The size of the holes depends on the species of bird being proofed against, with 50mm being the most common for Pigeons.
Netting is attached to a tensioned staining wire running around its perimeter. This keeps the netting tight and square and ensures the netting is as discreet as possible.

Pigeon Spikes
A 'spike' or 'point' system is one of the most effective ways of preventing a bird from perching on a ledge. Spikes are made from 304 grade stainless steel wires attached to a UV stable polycarbonate base.
Spikes are usually attached with a high strength polymer adhesive, though they can be screwed in.
Spikes can be attached to virtually any flat surface and can be clipped on to gutters.

A post and wire system is another way of proofing a ledge. It is less unsightly than a point system but is not suitable for proofing against a heavy infestation of birds.
A post and wire system consists of tensioned stainless steel wires suspended between vertical stainless steel posts which are drilled or stuck on to the ledge.
This system can also be installed on to gutters, roof ridges, girders, pipes and handrails using special fixings.
Bespoke Solutions
Bird Management Solutions have designed and installed many custom bird proofing solutions.
Stainless steel weldmesh can be used where added security and durability is required. We can also make removable mesh panels.
PVC curtain strip doors can be installed to prevent birds gaining access to areas where doors are left open all the time. This is especially useful for areas like warehouses and loading bays.
We can also install chimney pot and stack proofing, Gull nest removal, starling proofing to domestic properties, replacement of damaged soffits, fascias and gutters and many other forms of bird proofing solution, tailored to each individual problem.

Bird Control
If the infestation is particularly severe or in an area where proofing is not praticable (such as a loft or roof space) we can psysically remove the birds by either shooting or trappping. This is usually only used as a last resort and is only effective when used with other proofing measures - removing the birds just creates a vacuum which is soon filled by other birds.
Where gulls are nesting on a flat roof we can offer Gull colony intervention and scaring programmes which consist of regular visits to a premises to remove Gull nests and eggs. This is a proven long term solution to significantly reduce the population of a Gull colony.
Bird Fouling Removal
We also offer services to deal with the secondary problems associated with a bird infestation problem such as bird fouling on windows, shop fronts and signs and blocked gutters, drainpipes and air ducts. We can also treat the various insect infestations (flies, ticks, mites etc..) which can accompany a bird infestation problem.
Bird fouling contains many bacteria and pathogens that lead to potentially fatal illnesses in humans. Because of this, only trained and suitably equipped personnel should attempt this task. Bird fouling is classified as controlled waste and under recent regulations, bird carcasses are now classified as clinical waste. Neither fouling or carcasses may be disposed of with normal household/commercial waste and can only be carried in licensed vehicles.
Bird Management Solutions is licensed and fully equipped to safely remove bird fouling and dispose of it in the appropriate manner.
